Having acne is not something most people enjoy. Sporting a pimple makes most of us embarrassed. Most of us feel like pimples and acne are things we should have grown out of when we left our teenage years. Unfortunately, not practicing proper skin care means that your teenage acne will never fully go away. You might not want to believe this but there are plenty of adults who still have the same acne problems they had as young teenagers. Here are some ways to help you keep the acne from invading. You should take steps to keep your hair from falling in your face.
All day long your hair follicles produce oil which makes its way into your hair and then, if you are not careful, onto your face and into your pores. If you have long hair that gets in your face or bangs that rest against your forehead for most of the day you could transfer that oil to your pores, which will then get clogged and produce pimples and acne. Long hair and bangs are fun for styling and looking good but in order to keep the acne away, you should keep them pulled back and away from your face. Braids, ponytails and headbands are the easiest ways to keep hair away from your face. Your pores will be grateful! Get a dermatologist to help you. Some adults are cursed with acne that does not respond to “regular” cleansers and treatments. Sometimes you need to ask a doctor for help–especially if nothing is helping to ease your acne and breakouts. You might need a prescription strength acne fighter and a dermatologist can give that to you. You might be one of those people whose acne is caused by other medical conditions and a dermatologist will be able to properly diagnose this. You might be surprised to find out that genetics and other health conditions can come into play and cause acne issues. Your doctor will help you figure out how to clear up your skin safely and get it healthy again.
Reduce your stress! Did you know that stress can have a direct impact on your acne issues? It is important to take some time for yourself every day to lower your stress. Teach yourself some simple calming exercises that you can use when your stress level starts to climb. A change in lifestyle might be worth exploring if your daily life is filled to the brim with extremely stressful situations. In addition to being happier and better balanced, your acne might go away as well!
There are plenty of ways to keep your skin healthy and acne free. You might be able to get by with only washing your face a couple of times each day. Some people will have to use stronger products on their skin to keep it clean. You might decide that your best defense against acne is a natural lifestyle and a regular exercise routine. Be patient and explore your options–there is no universal acne cure. Keep with each method for a while.
It will take time for acne fighters to really work, so stick with each thing you try for at least a couple of weeks before you give up and go on to something else.
