We are taught from birth that washing our face is something that we need to do every day. For most of us, face washing is much more of a chore than anything else and it is not usually something we want to make time for. Even after spending years in puberty and battling against regular acne breakouts, washing your face is more of a hassle, especially when all you want to do is go to sleep! Here’s the skinny: to keep your skin clear and your pores unclogged, you need to keep your face clean. Are you prepared to be the only adult you know who still fights acne every day? Here is how you keep your face clean and keep acne away.
Keep your linens clean. Keeping the bedding and linens clean is not something that some people find all that important. If you suffer from acne problems, you cannot be one of these people. Instead of slacking, wash and dry your bedding every two or three days. Keeping your linens clean is the best way to help you make sure that your face stays clean while you are sleeping. Make sure you always wear clean clothes and pajamas. Even though it seems extreme, even pulling yesterday’s t-shirt down over your face could deposit enough debris in your pores to cause a breakout.
Take care to use beauty products that do not contain a lot of oil. There are even some facial cleansers that have oil for their base. Oily pores are the reason you are taking steps to clean your face! Take some time to read the ingredients of every facial product that you think you might purchase. Powder bases are better for your skin because they contain less oil (or none at all) than the liquid based cosmetics on the counter. A facial cleanser should be light and feel more like lotion than soap, so stay away from super heavy liquids or cleansers that start out as solids. Exercise some caution and common sense when you shop!
What about the natural products that are already in your kitchen and bathroom that could help you combat those zits? There are a lot of people who insist that toothpaste is great for zits. Once a zit or pimple is completely formed, squeeze some toothpaste onto it and leave it alone overnight. When you wake up, you will see that the pimple or zit has gotten a lot smaller (do not try this if you have pets who roam free at night because tasting the toothpaste could make them very sick). Lots of people use egg whites to clean their faces and reduce their breakouts. Try making a mask with your egg whites if dabbing them directly onto an existing breakout doesn’t clear it up. Acne can be caused by a wide variety of things. You need to remind yourself that you are not alone with your acne issues–everyone deals with some form of acne or other. Some people might need more help curing their acne than other people but it is important to know that everyone, regardless of their age, will battle acne at some stage. There are all sorts of cures and aids to help people fight against a breakout or acne problem. You might be able to fix your problem completely with a simple cleanser you buy at the store. You might need to ask a doctor for help. Just keep exploring solutions and eventually you will cure your acne!
