ALBUS ATRUM’ 2013 – A roaring good results

A image speaks louder than thousand words? Effectively maybe much more than ten thousand words if it occurs to be the exhibition of the very talented bunch of students from the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Photography. And the esteemed guests at the inauguration of this three day photo exhibition, aptly titled ” Albus Atrum” at Tao Art Gallery, worli, simply couldn’t agree much more as the images evoked a plethora of feelings from surprise to intrigue, from sheer delight to ecstasy and back to reality.

Patangrao Kadam, Honourable Cabinet Minister, Government of Maharashtra, along with Boman Irani, Niranjan Hiranandani, Avinash Govariker, Kalpana Shah and Vishwajeet Kadam did the honours for this spectacular exhibition that comprised of practically hundred and twenty works of twelve students of the first batch of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Photography. Subhash Awchat was amongst the early birds. Divya Palat and Aditya Hitkari also spent high quality time at this exhibition. Vikas Parak won the very first prize for his meticulous work followed by Sampada Patil who was a close second.Also spotted on day two and day 3 of the exhibition had been Atul Kasbekar, Achla Sachdev and Indra Kumar.

Boman Irani fondly recollected his days as a budding photographer and observed that the students of BharatiVidyapeeth were certainly fortunate and blessed to have access to the best gear along with with a world class faculty to guide them. Rajan Chaughule, Director of Bharati Vidyapeeth and Rajashri Rajashekhar and Bharat Birangi, core group members, had been all smiles as their students were applauded by the packed gathering at Tao Art Gallery. Milind Soman came in late and had a very good dekko at the a variety of functions .Pinkey Ahluwalia, Belgian vice consul was extremely impressed by the efforts of the young students.
