Acne is simply a part of your life when you are in your teen years. In spite of how embarrassing having a face full of zits can be, there is some comfort in knowing that everyone else in school is dealing with acne as well. As adults we are supposed to have grown out of the frequent breakouts of our puberty years. This is the main reason that adults do not deal well with the occasional zit or pimple and they get so embarrassed by the random breakout. Even though our breakouts are not as severe, waking up to one can make us feel like immature kids who have to go to school looking weird. Adult acne is often very painful, which is another reason so many adults dread breaking out. Here are some acne fighting tips that you can use no matter how old you might be.
Keep your linens clean. It might surprise you to learn that there are some people who choose not to wash their linens regularly. If you have problems with acne, you cannot afford to be one of these people. Instead you should make the time to clean your bedding-especially your pillowcases-every couple of days. Keeping your linens clean is the best way to help you make sure that your face stays clean while you are sleeping. Don’t wear dirty pajamas or clothing. It seems silly, but if you are prone to breakouts, sometimes all it takes to start a fresh one is wearing the same shirt a couple of days in a row.
If you are a person whose acne is severe, you should search for a cleanser that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. A cleanser that contains these ingredients is stronger than its competition and was created specifically to combat severe acne problems. If you only suffer from a pimple or two here and there you should choose from something gentler–these harsh cleansers could strip valuable layers of skin off of your face. If, however, you suffer from bad acne, these cleansers might just be the thing you need to start breaking down the pimples and cleaning out your pores.
You should keep your skin away from the sun. Spreading on sunscreen probably seems really stupid if your main goal is to keep your pores free of outside substances. Choosing an oil free sunscreen is the way to combat this.
Happily, you are no longer forced to choose between super oily sunscreens when you want to protect your skin. Now sunscreen is light and can be sprayed on! Even better, many facial moisturizers and cosmetic products already contain sunscreen so you don’t have to worry about purchasing more products. An important fact to keep in mind is that tanning does not prevent you from getting zits, it only helps you get skin cancer.
There is no rule that says acne combat needs to be expensive or extremely complicated. Having a clean face is the easiest way to prevent breakouts. Being rough on your face is a bad idea because it could cause more damage. A thorough cleansing is possible without having to resort to heavy scrubbing!
