Acne is simply a part of your life when you are in your teen years. Knowing that we are not alone in our acne issues can help dealing them easier when we are teenagers, no matter how embarrassed we are by our “pizza faces”. When we grow up we try to convince ourselves that our years of breakouts are over. This is one of the reasons that finding those rogue pimples or having those sporadic breakouts can be so embarrassing. Nothing makes us relive our teenage years like waking up to a face that has a few spots and bumps. Adult acne is often very painful, which is another reason so many adults dread breaking out. No matter what number your age starts with, use these hints to help you deal with your next breakout.
Take it easy on your face when you wash it. Don’t scrub! Acne has an easier time settling into a face that has recently been scrubbed! The skin on your face is incredibly sensitive and easily injured so scrubbing is far more harmful than helpful. Nobody wants to have scars from scrubbing. Good face washing means finding the balance between firmness and being gentle. It sounds difficult but it is very easy to learn. Here is a hint: if you have a bright red face after you finish your skin care routine, your routine is too harsh. You want it to be flushed but not bright red! You want to have a healthy glow but stop short of looking like a red light bulb.
Your makeup and other cosmetic items might be oil based. There are even some facial cleansers that have oil for their base. The main goal of washing your face at all is to get rid of the oil that finds its way into your pores. It is important to take a moment to make sure there isn’t any oil in any of the cleansers, cosmetics or other beauty products you think about buying. The simplest way to avoid putting extra oil onto your skin is to eschew the liquid based cosmetics and choose powder based cosmetics instead. Stay away from cleansers that are come in solid forms and choose cleansers that foam up or are lighter lotions than oily and heavy liquids. Use common sense and be careful!
What about the natural products that are already in your kitchen and bathroom that could help you combat those zits? There are a lot of people who insist that toothpaste is great for zits. Put some toothpaste on your zits or pimples after they formed and then leave them alone overnight. Lock the pets out of the bedroom overnight so that they won’t try to taste the toothpaste or lick it off of your face and in the morning your zit will be a lot smaller than it was-it might even be gone! Egg whites, when used as facial cleansers can do wonders for your acne. Egg whites can be used both as facial masks and as spot treatments for zits.
There are lots of options for treating acne. Whether you need a strong chemical based cleanser or can get by with just some natural ingredients, your choices are wide and varied. Some people find that treating acne is as easy as getting into a regular exercise routine and eating a natural and balanced diet. It will take some trials and failures before you find success with your acne treatments. Keep at it and you will eventually find the best acne remedy for your skin. Don’t give up and soon you will have clean and clear skin!
