Face it, there is not a person that is born that is not going to grow old. From the moment we are born, we begin to age and there is no stopping it, it’s just a fact of life. But, this does not mean that just because we are growing older that we can’t help ourselves stay young longer during the process.
A lot of people as they grow older find that they have a lot more time on their hands than they did when they were younger. The kids are grown as well as you are more than likely no longer working. So, a really good way to utilize that extra time and to help keep the mind young is to get a new hobby or a new interest that you can get yourself involved with. It could be anything from singing in the choir at church to crocheting. Sit down and think about what might be interesting for you to try and don’t be afraid to give it a shot.
Another important way to help you feel and stay young as you grow older is to not dwell on the past. Make sure that you live in the present. You also shouldn’t worry about what’s coming up in the future. Just think about today and what wonders the day holds for you that you can enjoy. Take a look at the sky and enjoy the cloud formations or enjoy the trees that surround you. Count your blessings, be thankful for all the things that surround you with beauty and wonder, this could be as simple as the food you might eat or the people you know that bring you joy and that you love being around. Focus on what makes you happy in the here and now and not yesterday or what might make you happy in the future.
Laugh and laugh often, find things that make you smile, that make you laugh. They weren’t lying when they said laughter is the best medicine, laughter is a wonderful anti-aging therapy, it simply stimulates everything including the mind. Find a funny TV show to watch or a funny movie or try and discover the humor just in life. Laughter helps to heal and it allows us to forget about the negativity that life can bring us sometimes.
Always be willing to do something new and different. Don’t be afraid to try something you have never done before but have always thought about doing. Who cares what it is, do it anyway. Sit down and write a book if that’s what you’ve always wanted to do, even if you don’t publish it, write it anyway. Whatever it might be, don’t be shy, jump in, do it!
Most importantly don’t let yourself be afraid of getting older. Don’t sit around worrying about your hair getting gray or the wrinkles that are starting to form on your face, no one stays young forever, in fact youth is very short and it all catches up to everyone. You will be wasting precious time if you sit around worrying about getting old, no one is perfect and the aging process reminds us of that. SABUNG AYAM
