You have spent your entire life listening to people tell you that you need to wash your face. If you are like most of your friends, you don’t really care about washing your face every day–in fact, doing so feels like a chore! Even after going through puberty and fighting daily breakouts and acne, washing your face probably feels like a chore–especially right before bedtime. Here’s the skinny: to keep your skin clear and your pores unclogged, you need to keep your face clean. Do you really want to be the only person in the office with the acne problem of a teenager? Here are a few hints to help you keep your skin healthy.
Are you eating the right foods and getting the nutrients that you need? Being malnutrition can make a lot of people experience acne. Acne is sometimes a sign that you are not getting the right vitamins and minerals that you need. Some people find that simply taking a multi-vitamin is all they need to correct this issue. Fixing your acne might not be as easy as taking your vitamins, but doing so could help you regain your health. If you are malnutritioned, your body is making a bunch of extra sebum which is getting into your pores and clogging them which causes breakouts-this is why many people think acne is a sign of bigger health issues. Eat better and take your vitamins and you should not have to worry about this kind of acne. Choose makeup that is easier on your skin, wear less of it or skip it altogether. Choose a base or foundation that is enhanced with sunscreen so you only have to apply one product. Consider choosing makeup that has had vitamins and nutrients added to it so that you are helping your skin when you put it on each morning instead of potentially damaging it. Just because one brand costs less than the others does not mean that that is the brand you should choose. Try not to smear on more makeup than you really need. The goal is to wear as little makeup as you can. It is still possible to look great even though you aren’t wearing dozens of layers of product! This is also important: do not go to bed with makeup still on your face. Acne breakouts almost always follow a night spent sleeping in your makeup.
Have you thought about using natural products to help you fight your acne? Some people swear by treating zits with toothpaste. Squeeze some toothpaste onto a pimple or zit after it has formed and leave it on overnight. Lock the pets out of the bedroom overnight so that they won’t try to taste the toothpaste or lick it off of your face and in the morning your zit will be a lot smaller than it was-it might even be gone! Some people insist that egg whites can also heal acne. Try making a mask with your egg whites if dabbing them directly onto an existing breakout doesn’t clear it up.
You have plenty of options available for cleaning your skin and fighting acne. You might be able to get by with only washing your face a couple of times each day. Someone else might need a more invasive facial cleanser. You might decide that your best defense against acne is a natural lifestyle and a regular exercise routine. Take your time to experiment and figure out what works best for you. Be patient and give something time to work.
Don’t give up too quickly–many acne fighters take a while to start working properly so give each method a few weeks to do its job before deciding that it doesn’t work.
