Everybody can agree that having good skin is the goal. A lot of us (unfairly) associate having bad skin with having bad hygiene habits even though bad skin is not a sign of whether someone keeps clean. Anybody can experience a breakout.
Acne is caused by a few different things, which makes just about everybody susceptible to it! Even thought he breakouts we face as adults are not usually as severe as the breakouts we faced as teenagers, our skin will still flare up every once in a while and knowing how to prevent that from happening is simply part of becoming an adult. Get rid of acne by following these handy tips.
Gently washing your face is the way to go. Don’t scrub! Putting too much pressure on your face when you wash can take off layers of the skin and leave it vulnerable to oil and breakouts. Putting too much pressure on your skin when you wash your face can injure the sensitive skin you are trying to keep clean and can leave it more damaged than anything else. You don’t want to have scrubbing scars do you? You need to have a firm but gentle touch when you wash your face. This sounds harder than it actually is. Here is a hint: if you have a bright red face after you finish your skin care routine, your routine is too harsh. The goal is to have a flush, but that flush should not be beet red. Go for the glow, not the stoplight effect.
Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can be incredibly helpful to adults whose acne is severe. Skincare developers made these cleansers specifically to attack acne that normal cleansers don’t seem to affect that much. If you only suffer from a pimple or two here and there you should choose from something gentler–these harsh cleansers could strip valuable layers of skin off of your face. If, however, you suffer from bad acne, these cleansers might just be the thing you need to start breaking down the pimples and cleaning out your pores.
Stay out of the sun as much as you can! Slathering on sunscreen might seem counterproductive to people who focus on keeping their pores substance free. Thankfully there are lots of sunscreens that are not oily.
Gone are the days of only having heavy and oily sunscreen lotions to choose from. Now sunscreen is light and can be sprayed on! Fighting against the sun is easier than ever now because your makeup and lotion probably already has SPF agents in it. It is important to remember that the old wives take about tanning preventing acne is false! There are many factors that can cause a person to experience acne. Whether you get a zit only once in a while or you suffer from bad breakouts every day does not matter–what does matter is understanding that everyone deals with acne. Acne does not discriminate against age: everyone suffers from it at some point. There are lots of fixes for skin problems. Your acne might only need to be spot treated with a mild cleanser you get at the supermarket. You might have to ask a dermatologist to help you. Just keep trying and soon you’ll find the solution you’ve been looking for!
