If you have been worried and afraid because you don’t want to develop diabetes, I have some terrific news that I’d like to share with you! Did you know that eating healthy and nutritious foods can often work wonders in helping to prevent diabetes? Well, it is true! Now you are probably thinking this all sounds pretty good, but you may be wondering how exactly do you get started with this new healthy way of eating?
For starters, I would highly recommend that you plant your own vegetable garden. This will help to ensure that you always have fresh, organic veggies that are free of harmful pesticides ready for you and your family. Pretty much any non-starchy vegetable is low in calories and full of nutrients, and they tend to have a minimal effect on your blood sugar levels. Therefore, non-starchy vegetables such as green beans, broccoli, celery and cucumbers, are all excellent choices for anyone who is trying to avoid developing diabetes. If you’re unsure of how to go about growing your own vegetable garden, your local library is sure to have many excellent books on this topic. Alternatively, perhaps you might have a friend or family member that can help you with this? In any case, starting your own veggie garden is actually pretty easy to do.
If you’re able to, I would also highly recommend raising your own chickens. This is because the meat and eggs are excellent sources of nutrition, and they can therefore help to prevent diabetes.
Last but certainly not least, exercise is another great way to avoid diabetes. In fact, some studies have shown regular exercise to cut a person’s diabetes risk by as much as 50%!
Best of luck to you, and I hope that you are able to stave off diabetes and enjoy excellent health for many years to come!
