As a teenager having acne is just part of growing up. Knowing that we are not alone in our acne issues can help dealing them easier when we are teenagers, no matter how embarrassed we are by our “pizza faces”. Puberty is supposed to be the worst of our acne years; by adulthood we’re supposed to be mostly finished with it. This is the main reason that adults do not deal well with the occasional zit or pimple and they get so embarrassed by the random breakout. Nothing makes us feel like kids again more than waking up to find that we’re sporting some new spots and bumps. It can hurt quite a lot to have a breakout when you are an adult. Here are some things you can do to fight acne (no matter how old you are).
Go easy when you wash your face! Don’t try to scrub it clean! Putting too much pressure on your face when you wash can take off layers of the skin and leave it vulnerable to oil and breakouts. Scrubbing might feel good initially but it actually does quite a lot of harm to the very sensitive skin on your face! Do you really want to have a face full of scars from scrubbing? You need to have a firm but gentle touch when you wash your face. It sounds difficult but it is very easy to learn. Here is a hint: if you have a bright red face after you finish your skin care routine, your routine is too harsh. You want it to be flushed but not bright red! Glowing is good but looking like a traffic light is bad.
If you are a person whose acne is severe, you should search for a cleanser that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. This type of super strong cleanser was developed with severe acne sufferers in mind. If you do not suffer from severe acne and only have to deal with a stray zit here and there you should choose a gentler cleanser because a cleanser with these ingredients could do some major damage to your face. If your acne really is hard to deal with, the harsher cleansers might be just what you need to get clear skin.
Your face should get two washes every day. Things can work their way into our pores even while we are sleeping. You should have a cleaning routine for your skin that you do in the morning and at night. Your evening cleansing routine will be more involved than the routine you do in the mornings because you will be washing away all of the things that have clogged your pores during the day, but at the bare minimum your face should get cleansed each morning. Your face will be very happy!
You can choose the best method of treating your acne. Whether you need a strong chemical based cleanser or can get by with just some natural ingredients, your choices are wide and varied. Still others insist that a simple balanced diet and getting enough exercise should be enough to keep the acne away. It will take some trials and failures before you find success with your acne treatments. Keep at it and you will eventually find the best acne remedy for your skin. Be patient-you can have perfect skin!
