After course completion, all the students are in a dilemma on what to do next. Most of us will be trying to get into some firm for their earning. This task is not as easy as it seems. Even though there are lots of companies all across the state even in a particular field, each company will be demanding certain criteria for their employees. So to communicate your skills and knowledge to them, you need to have a Resume that best describes you in a very simple, but professional way.
Resume is a version about you in a piece of paper. They must be informative and precise and attractive, with all your qualifications and skills so that the manager can select you. To the beginners here we are giving you few tips on how to write a good resume and what all things you have to add and avoid in a resume.
First create a general resume including your personal details, contacts, educational qualifications, technical skills and details of certifications courses if any. You can use this as a basic one and change your resume depending on the requirements of the job you are applying for. It is not a good practice to send the similar resume to all the company. To point out a case, if you are applying for a customer care executive post and if you are not mentioning your ability to handle people and work as a team, the employers may not consider your resume for verification. So it’s important to mention your skills and abilities depending on the job requirements.
Be careful while choosing the words that describe you in the resume. Do not use the short forms and local vocabulary. Your resume must look professional and up to the standard. Here are few words that you can add to the section that describes you in the resume.
Now, there are certain things that have to go into the resume. These include the objectives, education profile, experience if any, skills and your contact details. These details should not be avoided in resume. You need not add your family background, religion, etc on your resume. Be precise add your address and other contact details. What the employers weigh more are your educational qualification and the skills.
Last, but not the least, check for any sentence construction and grammar mistakes in your resume. Your carelessness can miss you a fortune.
