My Knowledge Muay Thai Training in Thailand

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been practicing diverse varieties of martial arts. I started when I was 7 years old and Bruce Lee was a household name. Tae Kwon Do studios were popping up everywhere and I guess my Dad believed I must know how to fight, so he signed me up. I went each Monday via Friday for 5 years!

Considering that then, I’ve practiced a couple of different styles, but it wasn’t till I moved to China where I accidently located a classic style Muay Thai fitness center and immediately began training.

Muay Thai is identified as The Art of eight limbs simply because Thai Boxers use feet, hands, elbows, and knees to fight with and is incorporated into their daily training. Right now, several MMA boxers incorporate Muay Thai into their game since it operates and can truly hurt an opponent!

Quickly right after all of this, I decided to book a flight to Thailand and train in the place where it all began! My goal was straightforward, train, consume, sleep, and then train some much more.

I visited Bangkok when before all of this, but for this trip I wanted to find someplace new. I talked with folks, researched, and study about where to train and decided on Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I chose Chiang Mai because it really is recognized for retaining a lot of old Thai culture, which was something I wanted with my education. And, because I wanted authentic, and no touristy stuff, Chiang Mai seemed like the best decision.

Because this trip was to revolve around instruction, I wanted a health club that provided a place to sleep on-website. Nevertheless, I ended up selecting a location that did not provide accommodation, but told me to come there when I arrived and he would uncover a place for me to remain. So, that’s what I did!

From the airport, a taxi took me to the gym, and as promised, the gym owner and I hopped on his scooter and he took me to a nearby motel.

That afternoon I started my education and continued everyday for 8 days, in the early morning and late afternoon with only Sunday to rest. Getting a 43-year-old man, I knew that was going to be tough

And I was correct! Every training session lasted for 1.five hours. The very first 30 minutes we were on our personal. Most individuals went operating, but I never run simply because of undesirable knees, so a couple other people and me chose to jump rope and some tire function.

Subsequent, We took turns hitting the pads one-on-one particular with a trainer. This mimicked a genuine Thai boxing fight by going 5 rounds with each and every lasting 3 minutes. The trainer would contact out the strike and we would execute. At the exact same time, they would right our moves and push us via all 5 rounds…it wasn’t effortless! Although waiting for our turn we shadowboxed and hit the heavy bag. After our 1-on-a single, we have been back on the heavy bag to drill what we just discovered. Ultimately, at the finish of the afternoon sessions, it was sparring and clinching time!

Needless to say, I was sore from the extremely first afternoon and remained so for the whole time I was there. My legs had so numerous black and blue marks from hitting the pads and had been sore from the amount of punches, kicks, knees, and elbows we had been doing and the overall soreness that just comes from 3 hours of daily education!

To be in a position to make it the whole time, I did as planned ate extremely wholesome foods, slept between trainings and early at night. Lastly, no partying!

I discovered a fantastic deal on that first trip last February and would recommend it to any person interested in enhancing his or her fight game. I have given that gone back to train final month and will go once more this December.
