Puncham Bazaar

Puncham Bazaar’, an annual exhibition cum sale organized by ‘Puncham’, a women’s aid organization headed by Rani Poddar is getting held on Saturday 7th June at Hotel Vivanta By Taj President, Cuffe-Parade, Mumbai.

This exhibition cum sale primarily focuses on generating all sorts of household items beneath a single roof for girls. So be it cutlery, crockery, artefacts, furnishings, designer garments or something at all for women, you will certainly discover it at ‘Puncham Bazaar’.

Founded in the year 1980, ‘Puncham’, women’s help organizationis the brain child of Rani Poddar, who has been at the forefront of social initiatives and charitable activities all through her life. In its tenure of 34 years, ‘Puncham’ has been instrumental in constructing nearly 11 cold drinking water fountains in Mumbai, apart from assisting the Indian Cancer Society and the Association for the Blind.

In 2009, the Instances of India group recognized and acknowledged Rani Poddar for her outstanding social contribution by conferring the ‘Angel of the City’ award. She also received the prestigious ‘Udaan’ award as a lady of substance at the hands of Ashok Chavan, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Rani Poddar also plays a essential part in her family organization as the Managing Director of Nathuram Ramnarayan Pvt Ltd which is closely engaged in the textile enterprise for over 100 years. Like a true woman of substance she juggles all hats with equal ease. Celebrities like Prof. Smt Radha Sankaranarayanan, wife of His Excellency, Honorable Shri K. Sankaranarayanan, the Governor of Maharashtra, Actor Arjun Kapoor, Mayor Sunil Prabhu, Dolly Thakore, Parizad Kolah and many others visited this prestigious occasion in the past and many a higher profile dignitaries and celebrities are expected to pay a visit to ‘Puncham Bazaar’ this year as well.
