Years ago, men were the only ones who could enjoy a final night of freedom and partying before they tied the knot. Thankfully, that is no longer the case, as nowadays bachelorette parties have grown to be very popular, especially among younger women. To be more specific, these are parties that the maid of honor organizes in honor of the future bride, so as to give her the chance to relax and unwind in a friendly environment before the stressful event.
One very special idea for a bachelorette party is to fly all of the guests to an exciting destination. Choose something exotic if you can afford it, or just go to a tourist attraction site nearby if you’re on a more modest budget. This way, you will be able to visit an interesting place and enjoy taking a trip with your friends as well.
For instance, you could celebrating by holding a movie night at your house or at one of the other bridesmaids. Choose movies that you know the bride (and everyone else) will like, make loads of caramel popcorn and stock up on trivia information about the actors and plot. Then, when the movies are over, you can spend the rest of the evening talking about boyfriends past and present and reassuring the bride that she isn’t going to miss single life one bit.
On the other hand, the bride may be a more reserved, quiet person, but that doesn’t mean you should skip the party altogether. Just turn it into a mellower get-together, one that you can hold at your house or at one of the other bridesmaids. This way, you can control all the preparations and save some money at the same time. Just make sure you have lots of fun things to do, such as some old-fashioned board games, which will remind you of childhood days, or a couple of hilarious chick-flicks that you can all watch together.
In the end, remember that the only thing that truly matters is that the style of the celebration matches the personality and preferences of the future bride. Go with whatever makes her happy, be it a noisy night of clubbing or a mellow slumber party; after all, it’s her night and she might as well have the time of her life!
