As the river meanders towards South China Sea, it passes over 1.140 kilometres through nine out of fourteen districts of West Kalimantan. At the place where this river converges, it forms a striking delta where the city of Pontianak is found. This river is quite important since it is the source of water and transportation to smaller towns.
