Nobody wants to have bad skin. A lot of us (unfairly) associate having bad skin with having bad hygiene habits even though bad skin is not a sign of whether someone keeps clean. Eventually every single adult will have to deal with acne.
Acne is caused by lots of different habits and situations which is the reason that almost every person will deal with it at least once in life. Even thought he breakouts we face as adults are not usually as severe as the breakouts we faced as teenagers, our skin will still flare up every once in a while and knowing how to prevent that from happening is simply part of becoming an adult. Here are some tips to help keep your skin clear and acne free.
Are you getting all of the vitamins and nutrients that you need? Being malnutrition can make a lot of people experience acne. Acne can be a symptom that some part of your body’s health is lacking in some way. The easiest way to deal with this is to take a multi-vitamin every day. The multi-vitamin won’t take care of all of your nutritional needs but it can help you make up for some of the areas in which you are lacking. When you aren’t properly nutritioned, your body will start to produce extra sebum which then clogs your pores and causes zits and pimples to appear (and makes it easier to get sick). Make sure you eat a balanced diet and get your vitamins!
Keep your hands off your face. The majority of the population doesn’t realize just how much time they spend touching their faces every day. The contact between our faces and our hands is partly to blame for our acne problems. Take a minute to think about this. Touching your face after you touch an object is sort of like resting your face on the object that you touched. When rest your face in your hands, the oil from your hands is transferred to your face and clogs the pores. This is also one of the reasons colds are so easily transmitted: you touch something that has germs on it and later brush your face with your hands which gives those germs easy access to your nose, mouth and eyes–prime entry portals! Don’t touch your face!
If you are unable to keep your hands away from your face make sure to wash your hands often! Keep those hands clean by washing them throughout the day!
Relax! Stress is one of the major causes of most adult acne breakouts. It is important to take some time for yourself every day to lower your stress. Have someone teach you some techniques for relaxation that you can use to keep your stress in check. It might be a good idea to cut back a little if your daily life is filled with stressful activity. When you let yourself relax you should find that your acne gets better (as does your overall outlook on life)! The best way to treat an acne breakout is also the most basic way to treat an acne breakout: wash your face and don’t pick at your zits. Other times you’ll need something more powerful to help you fight acne. No matter how old you might be, there are plenty of options available to help you keep your breakouts from coming back-isn’t that great?
